There are several myths and misconceptions about gender, one of it is gender is about women. It has been widespread that gender is the synonym for women; rather it is about ensuring that perspectives and needs of both men and women are understood.

Another misconception is that gender and sex are synonyms and thus can be used interchangeably; this is also wrong because gender is a social construct that defines the role of male and female while sex is the anatomy and physiological difference in male and female. Some believe that gender is about vulnerability; this is wrong because gender describes the role of a male or female.
